I had the wonderful pleasure of photographing my little cousin's wedding (well, he's not so little now, he's like 6 foot 4inches!) along with his beautiful bride (thanks again to the talented Nicole DeAnne) on November 21st of 2008. I also had a blast spending the day with the fabulous Lyndzee Ellsworth of Ellsworth Photography! Jarrett + Jenn were married at the LDS Temple in Los Angeles with a ring ceremony and reception that followed in Glendora. Here are a few of our favorites from their big day:

November 15th, 2008 was an eventful day to say the least! Not only did this lovely couple tie the knot, but it was also the day the all of the crazy fires broke out not too far from our house. We were just about ready to head out the door to Kenny + Nhi's wedding when we saw up in the sky a huge black cloud and flames just miles away! So we quickly packed up all of our hard drives, 72 hour kits, important documents, and arranged an emergency plan for our boys. We then said a quick prayer and headed out the door, we feel so blessed that we were able to come home at the end of the night to a perfectly sound house with just ash outside our patio and surrounding grounds. Nhi + Kenny were extremely kind and concerned for our situation and we wanted to personally thank them for that (also for the brownies they sent to us a few weeks after the wedding was over :), loved them!). Despite the crazy circumstances we were still able to have an amazing day! Here are some of our favorite shots:
My favorite shot of the day!
The reception was held in Fullerton at the Summit House. The restaurant is set up on top of a hill and this is the view we could see from there.
Thank you to Kenny + Nhi for having us out, the pleasure was ours!!!

I'm only up because my boss just called me and tried to get me to drive to victorville right now. HAHAHAHAHAHA. Yeah right, I've got to check the Lyons blog for updates. Yep, got one...and it's pretty good. I don't know...just a thought...bokeh is not my choice word, I actually think it's kind of lame. It might mean somethinglike "blurry" in japanese, since a japanese photographer coined the phrase...anyway, mix the bokeh with some glare and add a shot of wizard-ness, then you'll be drunk with perfection like the second shot from the top. Good freakin shot! That's why I say hey man, nice shot. It was a good shot man.

Mr. + Mrs. De Guzman were married on November 8th. We definitely had been anticipating this wedding ever since we spent a super fun afternoon with Jeannette + Glen back in April in fabulous city of Chicago as we shot their engagement session.
When I arrived to Jeannette's hotel room for prep photos I immediately fell in love with Jeannette's hair-do, it set the precedence for the entire day, old hollywood glam, gorgeous!!! What a fun idea for a theme and they lived up to it too!
Glen's groomsmen pumping him up before the ceremony!
After the ceremony was over we headed to a secretnew location for some portraits.
The reception was held at the Turnip Rose in Newport Beach.
My favorite shot of the day!
All of Jeannette + Glen's paper goods were printed and designed by Ink Loves Paper.
Congrats, congrats to Jeannette + Glen De Guzman!!! Click here to see more from their wedding day! Ps. I know the song I used is cliche, but it seemed fitting! :)

Hey Amelia, I absolutely love your work. I'm a budding photographer in Utah and would love any kind of tips or advice you could give. You are my photography role model, and I thank you for the way you inspire me to take amazing pictures. Is there a tutorial for the gritty look you give many of your photos? Or darkening the edges? I would love to hear from you! You are seriously amazing at what you do.

I ask you because you have separated yourself from about, oh I don't know maybe 99% of the other photographers in the world. There are those hobbyists with a mild appreciation for photography and have the nerve to call themselves photographers. You my friend are an artist. The camera is your medium and the world is your canvas. Your work is truly stunning. The lengthened shots are breathtaking. Full speed ahead without the brakes Amelia.

Stephanie + Tom were married on October 11th in Coto De Caza. We had such a awesomely-rad day with these two, it was nothing short of the fun we had with them during their engagement session at the Orange County Fair. Introducing the new Mr. & Mrs. Lam!
Congrats to Stephanie + Tom, LOVED your wedding! Thanks for having us out! Click here for their slideshow!
The day started off at Stephanie's parents' home for the their traditional tea ceremony.
Stephanie had none other than the Uber FABULOUS Nicole DeAnne do her hair and make-up, I LOVED this hair-do!!!
I though her shoes were gorgeous!
Since the wedding was held at a golf course we thought it was fitting to do the ring shot in with all of the tee's.
In the back of the Rolls...
My favorite shot(s) of the day!!!
Second favorite shot of the day!
I'm not sure how Stephanie felt, but as she turned the corner to walk down the aisle my heart skipped a beat to see ALL of the MANY people in attendance for the ceremony!
Mmmm, cupcakes instead of a cake....need I say more?!
Rog said:
ahh yes, I remember it like it were yesterday. The smell of the fresh cut good lookingness of Tom and Stephanie. Ready for thier time to embark on the most badically righteous photoshoot of thier lives. Fatefully, the Lyons took on the task like it was ordering a grande hot chocolatte from starbucks in the comfort of thier own car...easy and beautiful, over flowing with creativity. No problem for these two, they work in thier sleep...at least Amelia does...not quite sure when Justin works. I'll ask him tonight and let you know. Over and out my loves!
