Molly + John's wedding is 1 of 4 more weddings we need to post that were shot in 2009. I'm so excited to show off these last four weddings...I'm in love with each one's style, setting, and story. So here goes with the first of four!
The lovely Molly had here hair & make-up done by the ever fab Nicole DeAnne!
My favorite item of the day: Molly took her AMAZING calligraphy skill and HAND-WROTE out all of these ceremony/reception fans!
My favorite shot of the day...simple, but I'm I like how real it is. I caught this just as Molly + John walked out to greet their guests at their reception!
....and we got caught in the party! John convinced me to go out onto the dance floor with them, it was fun:)

Molly + John were married on October 17th, 2009 at one of our favorite places to shoot, The Shade Hotel in Manhattan Beach (this is also the home of our next LYON-SHOP to take place on January 12th). Everything about The Shade Hotel screams style, from the straight lines, to the long green curtains, to the whirl wind fire places in each hotel room...we heart this location! On top of such an amazing location we had the ever fantastic Molly + John to work with! Great style, sweet personalities, and they were ready to party the minute we showed up (you'll see that I actually got dragged into it their party if you make your way down to the bottom of this post)!

Wow, it was super fun putting this post together, Justin and I loved going through all of 2009 weddings and remembering what a fun year it was! We had so many GREAT clients and personally would like to thank each one of them for a year of success!
For this particular post we chose images from each wedding, some are from "my favorite shot of the day", some are ones that I can't let go of, and some images we chose because we think they are just plain-fabulous (pssst...if you look cloesly you might even see some shots from weddings we haven't even featured on the blog yet). Enjoy!
We are definitely looking forward to the future with the weddings we've booked for 2010! Happy New Year to everyone, we wish all of you much success and many-many blessings!

We want to hear from you about couples that have an inspiring story or have overcome great odds and hurdles. So tell us why they should be the lucky ones to have us shoot their wedding for FREE! You have between now and December 28th to submit a couple that you feel deserves it, or you could even submit yourself if you feel that you meet the criteria!
On December 28th we will post the TOP THREE couples and then have you, our readers, vote by leaving a comment. We will announce the official winners on New Year's Eve!
Here is what the winning couple will receive:
-up to 8 hours wedding day coverage
-online proofing
-Two photographers (including your's truly and Justin)
-engagement session
-one 11x14 15 spread flush mount album from RENAISSANCE ALBUMS
-high resolution digital negatives on disc provided at one year anniversary
Here are the rules:
-the story must be inspirational and/or about a couple that has overcome great odds
-the couple must have their wedding date and venue set in stone
-we must have the wedding date available (note: we don't accept Sunday weddings, even in this circumstance)
-the wedding must take place somewhere in Southern California (sorry, I'm a mom and travel can be quite difficult for me)
-the nominations must be submitted via email to amelia@amelialyon.com
-the email must include a photo of the couple attached to the email submission (we like to put a face with the name)
-the couple must be willing to allow us to put their story on our blog as well as the resulting photos from their engagement session and wedding!
We want to thank Renaissance Albums for donating a beautiful album and Fotofafa for donating the post processing. We CAN'T WAIT to hear the stories of the couples that you submit!

Ben, yes, that is exactly why we don't shoot weddings on Sundays, we believe it is the Sabbath and we should dedicate one day to rest and worship God. Jesus is VERY real, too many things have happened in my life that I cannot deny that. I hope and pray that someday you can see his influence in your life too. PJ & Yea were married on October 10th and they were an absolute joy to work with! Their day was super fun, especially because their wedding took place in the City of Lights (aka Las Vegas)! We always love shooting in different places, so what better place to work with than Las Vegas?! Justin and I were delighted to make the trip out for such an occasion.

Wendy + Sunup were married on October 3rd. While Justin was unavailable that day, I brought out the lovely and very talented Denise Bovee to second shoot with me. Wendy + Sunup, or should I say "Wenup" (what is this? scroll down and you'll see) were super sweet and beyond happy on this big day. You can see their happiness is very obvious and very apparent in their images!
