Austin + Jean were married on February 7th at the Occidental College in Los Angeles. This was an interesting day as it was a 100% forecast to rain the ENTIRE day. Not only were we praying for a break from the bad weather, but we heard that Austin's grandmother praying hard as well! Upon arriving to the Langham Hotel in Sierra Madre for prep photos the clouds parted and the sun shined on through...the day could not have been more gorgeous! See, prayers do get answered! Oddly and lucky enough, we had no rain until, literally, the minute the reception started and then it came down like cats and dogs!!!

While Justin attended to the men getting ready I found Jean waiting in her room and all beautified, thanks to talented make-up artist and hair-dresser extraordinaire Nicole DeAnne.

Morgan + Jake were married on January 10th at the LDS Temple in Las Vegas. They found us through a mutual family friend that insisted they check us out and we are so glad that they did!!! We were especially looking forward to shooting a different temple than we have use to, it was a nice a change and break from the norm.

I'm sure Morgan + Jake's faces look familiar, you may recognize them from their engagement session we shot back in November. The wedding day was lovely and we had some extra time between the temple ceremony and reception so we used the Las Vegas surroundings to our advantage for some creative portraiture.

This was our last wedding post from 2008, what a great way to end the year! Sharon + Jonathan were married on December 6th, you may recall their sweet faces from the engagement session I posted a few months prior.

Sharon and her lovely bridesmaids had their beautiful hair and make-up done by the ever so talented Nicole DeAnne. I am always so pleased with Nicole's work, especially to watch it last throughout the whole day and still look as fresh as it did when the day began.

For Sharon and Jonathan's portraits we had originally planned on going to a secondary location, but we arrived and found this amazing church made out of rad concrete walls, we decided to stay at the church and I am super pleased with how everything turned out.

oooohh! I saw that Kanye glasses ring shot at your house and was waiting for the final product. So rad! I totally would have done it differently though...and it would've sucked my way. Was that real grass? Did you feel it with your hands? It looks nice. I saw a lawn that looked like that once and I touched it, but fainted soon after from exposure to unknown grass origin. You too?

Shelly + Daniel were married on November 28th of 2008 at the LDS Temple in San Diego. Shelly contacted us over phone and we worked out all of the details via email. So, the first day we actually got to meet this lovely couple was when they exited the temple, for the first time in public as husband and wife! A year an half earlier we were hired to shoot Shelly's sister's wedding, but Shelly was unable to be present because she was serving a full time mission for the LDS Church. We were delighted to work with this family again and even more happy to meet such a sweet couple on this amazing day.

A year and half prior I had the great pleasure of meeting Shelly's grandfather at her sister's wedding, I was so happy to see him still going healthy and strong again on the day that Daniel and Shelly were married. The shot below was a request of Shelly, she has a photo almost identical to this one of when she was just a little girl kissing her grandpa on the cheek. Her mom plans to frame both photos next to each other as a diptych, I thought it was sweet.

Hey there DJ light speed ahead...slow down. That pic rocks and slides (not rolls. Rolls are for fatties and thankgiving). I just contemplated erasing that last comment for a long time, kept typing and eventually forgot about it. (no fatties were insulted in the making of this comment). Love you guys!

Mr. + Mrs. Yang were married on November 22nd of 2008. After photographing this lovely couple for their engagement session a few months prior, not only was I excited for the wedding day, but I could NOT wait to see the shoes Pauline had chosen for her wedding dress. I know that this may sound a little silly and somewhat crazy, but I am a total shoe fiend and Pauline has some great taste in shoes!

I truly believe that the dress and shoes of a bride can really tell a ton about how the wedding day will unfold, if the shoes and dress are fun and crazy then chances are that this is just what you will get for the rest of the day:)! The same goes for attire that is more classic, I bet that there will be a beautiful classic wedding day to follow. I was right for Pauline + Eddie's big day...check out the photos and let me know what you think:
